GALL BLADDER STONES AND SURGERY: CAUSES AND EFFECTS

Gallstones are generally the solid mass formed from the cholesterol or bilirubin content present in the gallbladder. Gallstones may have any of the size ranging from small tiny particles of a sand size to big cricket ball size it depends on the number of waste products deposited in the bile ducts. They cause severe pain in the abdomen if this condition left untreated to the extreme condition they may even lead to the death. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is the technique in which the doctors instead of making one large cut four tiny incisions are made in the abdominal region and the stones are removed. This procedure is usually done under the general anesthesia and the abdominal regions are cleaned with the general antiseptic solution. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy has turned out to be the same day surgery technique and the victims can leave the hospital on the same day of surgery once they are able to eat and walk comfortably. Usually, the surgeons inflate the abdominal region with carbon dioxide or air to see it clearly. The surgeon usually inserts the small lighted equipment or catheter attached to the video camera into a cut near the belly button. The doctors then use the video displayed on the monitor as a guide throughout the surgical procedure to remove the stones are the entire gallbladder in the extreme conditions. However, taking the healthy foods and avoiding the fat-rich food contents itself can keep us away from the gallstones. Introduction of laparoscopic surgeries in the last few years for the various types of open surgical procedures reduced the pain of more patients and lead them to happy daily routines within a day.
