Surgery and Infection-Mystery behind neurosurgery!

According to a recent study, the thing is that neurosurgery could spread protein linked to Alzheimer's disease.

According to a recent study, the thing is that neurosurgery could spread protein linked to Alzheimer's disease.
Certain researchers found that there may be rare chances for the cause of Alzheimer’s disease through certain proteins associated with the instruments in surgery. Surgical instruments used in neuro operations should be ensured that they are not contaminated with proteins related to Alzheimer’s disease.

The researchers are promoting the surgeons to decontaminate neurosurgical tools more keenly as a precautionary measure to reduce the potential risk of spreading abnormal proteins known to build up in the brains of Alzheimer’s patients.
Alzheimer’s diseases estimated to affect more than half a million people in Britain. This is the condition that impairs memory and cognitive abilities and is caused by the buildup of toxic protein deposits in the brain. The two kinds of proteins one of them called amyloid beta plaques to form between the nerve cells and the other called tau proteins is found inside the nerve cells.

Still, furthermore research works are carried out to ensure if there is any link between these medical procedures and Alzheimer’s disease.

Lets get to know more about surgeries

10 Most complicated surgical techniques

Due to the rapid improvement in the field of surgery and surgical instrumentation number of minimally invasive surgical procedures has also been developed to save the life of the victims. Below list shows some of the challenging and the complicated surgeries.

1.Septal Myectomy-Unclog the congealed muscles of the heart.
2.Bariatric Surgeries/Gastric Bypass-Weight loss surgery by reducing the size of the stomach.
3.Thoracic Aortic Dissection Repair-Fixes the tear in the deepest layer of the heart.
4. Bladder Cystectomy -surgically removes the part or entire urinary bladder.
5.Spinal Osteomyelitis Surgery-Infections in the spine that requires the surgery to remove them.
6. Craniectomy -removes the skull portion to inspect the brain.
7.Conjoined twins separation-separation of twins who shares their body parts and others.
8.Coronary revascularization-The surgical procedure to restore the flow of blood to the heart.
9.Surgical Ventricular Restoration-restores the heart to its original size and shape after the attack.
10.Esophagectomy -Aids in esophageal removal and reconstruction.
